RESUMO EXECUTIVO – Nesta Nota Técnica, analisamos as pressões orçamentárias sobre o sistema de saúde para o ano de 2021 e o pós-pandemia a partir da quantificação de procedimentos e tratamentos represados ao longo de 2020 e de uma estimativa do quanto esse represamento representa em valores financeiros. Em comparação com 2019, concluímos que houve uma queda generalizada no número de procedimentos, correspondente a -19,2%. Em termos econômicos, essa contratação significou uma redução de transferências federais para o Sistema Único de Saúde de aproximadamente R$ 3,6 bilhões em 2020. Os resultados apontam para um cenário preocupante de aumento de demanda dos serviços de atenção à saúde no país e, na contramão, o agravamento das pressões orçamentárias do SUS.
